What is an e-bike?
Bikes are bicycles with a battery-powered “assist” that comes via pedaling and, in some cases, a throttle. When you pedal on a pedal-assist e-bike, an electric motor engages to gives you a boost.
Why ride an e-bike?
With an e-bike you can travel faster and ride further with less effort than a regular bike. They are also just a heap of fun!
Is riding an e-bike cheating?
With an e-bike the power is there to assist you as much or as little as you need. Most riders find they will expend the same amount of calories but just cover more ground than a regular pedal bike.
Is it easy to ride an e-bike?
As e-bikes assist your normal pedaling it feels very natural and takes only a few minutes to adjust to the power assist. All you need to think about it what level of assist you require.
How far can you go?
It all depends on the motor, battery capacity, rider weight, terrain, weather conditions and how much assist you need. At Rent My Bike the standard e-bike will have a range of approximately 100kms on 'regular' assist before it needs a re-charge.
